Don’t underestimate the importance of Dental, Vision, and Hearing!

Close to 70% of older Americans have no form of dental insurance currently. An overall lack of access to routine or yearly dental exams and cleanings can heighten serious and complicated overall health problems that tend to increase as we age.

Studies show that hearing loss affects more than 40% of people over the age of 60, more than 60% of those over the age of 70, and almost 80% of those over the age of 80.

Roughly 80% of the 2.8 million Americans are individuals 70 or older. In addition, they account for the large population with low vision (defined as vision loss, other than blindness, not correctable with refraction, medication or surgery).

It is crucial not to put off your preventive checkups and regular health care for your teeth, eyes, and ears! This regular care could potentially go a long way toward avoiding depression, insecurities, and social isolation. Keep in mind it could also play a huge role in preventing health care costs due to accidents, falls, cognitive impairments, increase in chronic conditions, and possibly oral cancer.
